As per TV reports "SpiceJet Airline" in India has organised through its Cabin Crew in eight flights, "Dance Performances" Mid-air during Holi celebrations (Indian festival of colors) on 17/03/2014. However it may cost SpiceJet heavily, as Civil aviation watchdog DGCA (Directorate General Of Civil Aviation) has issued show cause notice to the airline and has suspended two of its pilots.

It seems, somewhere, SpiceJet Airlines has compromised the passengers safety in doing these dance shows in Air. There are certain disciplinary norms which SpiceJet Airlines should have followed when the lives of so many passengers were at stake.

However SpiceJet Airlines said that it is looking into the issue in cooperation with the DGCA.  Airlines defended itself by saying that the cockpit was manned all the time. “The cockpit was manned at all times as per DGCA regulations that govern the situation when one pilot is outside, for example to use the lavatory,” said an airline spokesperson.

“The dance was professionally choreographed and was Holi delight for passengers much like it is done by several airlines around the world to celebrate a special occasion. The entire dance sequence lasted 2.5 minutes only,” the spokesperson said.

Below is a Dance Video of SpiceJet Cabin Crew dance on-board flight SG-876 from Goa to Bangalore on that day.

Unmarried man demands a Bride from a candidate ahead of Lok Sabha elections

Subscribe to My Viuz Subscribe to My Viuz in MY YAHOO! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY GOOGLE! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY MSN! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY AOL! Subscribe to My Viuz in Rojo!
As per a report:

An unmarried man demanded a bride from a candidate ahead of Lok Sabha elections in Haryana, a state with the lowest sex ratio in the country - 877 women per 1,000 men. An abnormally large number of unmarried men in Haryana has even led to the creation of informal "randa unions". Their slogan is "Bahu dilao-vote pao" (Get us a bride-get our vote) ahead of elections.

The gender imbalance caused by female foeticide has become so acute that members of these unions and elders in many villages say they will raise the issue when politicians arrive for poll meetings. "The villagers will raise this issue, though in a lighter vein," said Sunil Jaglan, sarpanch of Bibipur village in Jind. The "bahu dilao-vote pao" slogan came from the Kunwara Union, set up in Jind in 2009 by Pawan Kumar, now its chairman.

"The government must not only attack female foeticide but also find jobs for young men in Haryana. Unemployment is also a factor for us not getting brides," he said. The union had even organized a protest march five years ago to demand brides.

Rampaging Elephant rescues trapped Human Baby

As per a report:

An Elephant smashed a house to bits in a village in West Bengal's Purulia district on Monday night but when it heard a 10-month-old baby crying under the debris, it turned back and carefully removed every last bit of stone, brick and mortar from the infant's body before heading back to the forest. It's all the more surprising because the lone tusker has killed at least three people in the last year, say forest officers.

The family in Olgara village was still in awe when TOI met them on Tuesday. Mother Lalita Mahato said: "We worship Lord Ganesh (the elephant god) in our village. Still, I can't believe that the tusker saved my daughter after breaking down the door and smashing a wall. We watched amazed as it gently removed the debris that had fallen on her. It's a miracle."

The child's father, Dipak Mahato, said they were having dinner around 8pm when they suddenly heard a "cracking sound" and then a huge crash from the bedroom. "We ran over and were shocked to see the wall in pieces and a tusker standing over our baby. She was crying and there were huge chunks of the wall lying all around and on the cot," he said. "The tusker started moving away but when our child started crying again, it returned and used its trunk to remove the debris."

As per a report:

A dead Indian guru has been in a deep freezer in his ashram for nearly six weeks with followers confident he will return to life to lead them, his spokesman said. Devotees placed Ashutosh Maharaj, whom authorities declared clinically dead on January 29, in the freezer and have been watching over his body in the sprawling ashram in a small town in northern Punjab state.

Maharaj, reportedly in his 70s, is one of India’s many gurus or god-men who headed the Divya Jyoti Jagrati Sansthan (Divine Light Awakening Mission) and claims to have millions of followers around the world. Mission spokesman Swami Vishalanand insisted their leader was not dead but was in fact in a state of samadhi, the highest level of meditation, and was therefore still conscious. Vishalanand told AFP that followers were now waiting for him to end his meditation.

A Temple where Chocolate is offered to God

Subscribe to My Viuz Subscribe to My Viuz in MY YAHOO! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY GOOGLE! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY MSN! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY AOL! Subscribe to My Viuz in Rojo!
As per a report:

In Kerala state of India there is a temple where mouth-watering chocolate bars are offered by devotees to the presiding deity. While devotees offer flowers, sandal paste and fruits to invoke divine blessing, the 'Thekkan Palani' Balasubramania temple differs as chocolate bars are offered in the sanctum sanctorum. Chocolate bars of a leading brand are made as offering by devotees and they get them back as 'prasdam' after poojas.

No wonder, the presiding deity of the shrine located at Subrahmanyapuram on the outskirts of the the town is known locally as "Munch Murugan." According to temple authorities, people, irrespective of caste, creed and religion, come to the shrine with cartons of chocolates, seeking the blessings of Lord Muruga. Naturally, children flock to the temple in large numbers, especially during the examination season.

No one knows for certain how or when the ritual of offering chocolate began. "The principal deity in the temple is 'Balamurugan', Lord Muruga as child. Somebody who thought that the child Muruga likes chocolate, might have begun the practice first," temple manager D Radhakrishnan told PTI. He said chocolates are given back to devotees as 'prasadam' like flowers and sandal paste after 'pushpanjali' or 'archana'. Chocolate is also used for rituals like 'thulabhara' along with other traditional articles like flowers and jaggery.

A large number of devotees, even those from other states and foreigners, visit the temple with boxes of chocolates. In the initial days, children were those who offered chocolates. But now, devotees of all ages, including the elderly, offer chocolates to the Lord Muruga, he said.

The shrine, managed by a 21-member trust, was built by an ardent devotee of Lord Muruga as a family temple decades back. He was frequent pilgrim to the famous Muruga temple in Palani in Tamil Nadu. The temple lore has it that Lord Muruga once appeared in his dreams and asked him to build a shrine in his village.

At Funeral Home, Dead Man Kicks to Escape Body Bag

    As per a report:

A funeral director and coroner in Mississippi got the shock of their lives this week when a man put in a body bag because he was believed to be dead kicked to get out just before they began the embalming process. "He was not dead, long story short," funeral director Byron Porter told local TV station WAPT. The man, 78-year-old Walter Williams, had been pronounced dead on Wednesday after the coroner arrived at his home in Lexington and found no pulse.

Williams was then taken to the funeral home. "I stood there and watched them put him in a body bag and zip it up," Williams' nephew, Eddie Hester, told the broadcaster. But at the funeral home, Williams began to breathe and kick, Holmes County Coroner Dexter Howard said in an interview. Howard said Williams has a defibrillator that may have fired up his heart again. Paramedics picked Williams up from the funeral home and took him to an area hospital, where he has been receiving treatment.

His daughter said that Williams, who was nicknamed "Snowball" because he was born during a rare Mississippi snowstorm, was in stable condition on Friday and had been talking with family members. "He said he thought he was asleep," Mary Williams said of her father's account of what happened. "Then he woke up in the hospital. He doesn't remember any of it, really."

Heavily-Tattooed Man denied Passport for his Weird Name

Subscribe to My Viuz Subscribe to My Viuz in MY YAHOO! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY GOOGLE! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY MSN! Subscribe to My Viuz in MY AOL! Subscribe to My Viuz in Rojo!
    As per a report:

Britain’s most heavily-tattooed man has been denied a passport for having an unusual name. His name reads “King of Ink Land King Body Art The Extreme Ink-Ite”. The 34-year-old, previously known as Mathew Whelan, adopted the moniker by deed poll four years ago, The Independent reported. “This is a breach of my human rights,” he was quoted by the daily.

“They want to put my birth name on my passport. But that is not my name any more,” he argued. The passport office refused to issue the document to Body Art, as he is known in short, despite his new name already showing on his driving license. Body Art has spent more than 25,000 pounds covering his skin in tattoos, including the whites of his eyeballs.

He was planning to travel overseas, where he had been offered body modification work. But despite filling out the relevant forms and paying the 72.50 pounds fee, the passport office sent him a letter on January 15 that said they were sticking to their policy and could not issue a passport because of his name.

The government agency told the Birmingham Mail that a policy section regarding “strings of words or phrases” meant his name was not admissible. “When an applicant changes his or her name to a string of words or phrases that would not normally be recognised as a name, this should not be entered on to the personal details page of the passport,” the section reads.
