Facebook campaign backed by 30,000 people reunites a toddler with her toy
18-month-old Maddie Cross accidentally left Pink Bunny on Baggy Point Beach in North Devon after visiting on a family holiday,
The toy was found by holidaymaker Deborah Hitchins, who decided she would use Facebook to try and reunite it with its owner.
She posted a picture of Pink Bunny, with the caption: "Please share this photo and help him get back to the little person who loves and cuddles him."
She took a number of photographs of the toy in a variety of locations as part of the campaign.
The post quickly went viral and was shared 30,000 times by users of the social network. Maddie's parents, Sarah and Brad Cross, spotted the post within 24 hours.
Sarah said: "When we saw Deborah's appeal we were gobsmacked - it was so generous."
Brad added that Pink Bunny arrived in the post earlier this week, saying: "Maddie has now got a big smile back on her face."
