Lord Hanuman gets Aadhaar card
Lord Hanuman of epic Ramayana has now got an Aadhar card in Rajasthan. He has been assigned a 12-digit number as part of the government’s Aadhar scheme. He has got a mobile number, an address, and the father name is “Pawan-ji”. Interestingly, the card, issued in the name of “Hanuman-ji”, shows the deity wearing a crown and a string of pearls.
This is not an isolated case. The ertwhile UPA Government’s much-hyped card has come under the scanner on numerous occasions. Lakhs of Aadhar cards on fake names and addresses have been issued by the government agencies across the country. The government had also outsourced the task of issuing the cards to the various private agencies and they have been doing so without carrying out proper verification. In fact, it was Vicky Kumar, a computer operator, who hit up on the idea of submitting an Aadhar application.
He said that he had tried three or four times to get an Aadhar card, but his finger prints were not accepted. “So I applied in the name of Hanuman and I gave my address and phone number,” he said. This clearly shows that one can easily get an Aadhar card by paying money to the touts. The card is also available to illegal migrants from Pakistan and Bangladesh. By paying as little as `500-`1000, the Bangla migrants have also got cards in Delhi and across the country. Many agents are operating pan-India rackets to issue these cards. And they have even managed to get around the so-called unbeatable Unique Identification system.
