Man Building Loo to Save His Marriage
A Man in India is building a toilet to save his eight-year marriage. Dev Karan has been given a January 10 deadline by a court to build a toilet if he wants his wife back, who filed for divorce four years ago. Dev is sinking into debt to rescue his marriage despite the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government launching the Maryada scheme in 2012 to build free toilets to prevent women from defecating in the open.
His wife Savita and her father Devi Lal welcomed the court decision, Dev was in deep water as his daily wages of Rs 125 were not enough to even take care of his visually challenged father and disabled mother, let alone build a toilet. He needed to mobilize at least Rs 5,000.
