31 Doctors in this Family and Still Counting

As per a report:

When Vinamrita Patni, secured 107th rank in the recently held RPMT, she will become the 32nd member of her family to join the medical profession after she completes her MBBS course. 

Most of her family members are doctors and it won’t be wrong to say this is Jaipur’s doctor parivar! 

Her uncles, aunts, cousins are all doctors. She is the youngest of the second generation, who is all set to join the medical course.

There are seven physicians, five gynecologists, three ophthalmologists, three ENT specialists, neurologists, urologist, surgeons, psychiatrics, pathologists and orthopedic doctors in the family.

"I am proud of such a family," Vinamrita said. 

At a time when the state government is reeling under shortage of doctors, this family is an inspiration for youngsters to opt for medical profession. The family has given top-notch doctors to the city, many of them are working at Sawai Man Singh hospital.

"There was no pressure on me to opt for medical profession. I have seen my parents dedicating themselves to the ailing and poor. Since childhood, I always wanted to become a doctor. There is such an environment in my family that I was always focussed and never ever thought about any other profession," Vinamrita said, who was recently adjudged the best basketball player, (under-19 in girls’ section) of the state. 

"I do not want to make a career in basketball. I will continue playing it as a hobby," she said, giving preference to her families’ medical profession. Her father Dr Tarun Patni is an MBBS, MD (pediatrician) and mother Dr Vinita Patni is a gynecologist (MBBS, MD). Her brother Tanmaye Patni is pursuing his MBBS (II-year) course at Sawai Man Singh medical college.

Sinkhole Swallows Family Car in England

As per a report:

A 30ft deep sinkhole has opened up in the driveway of a house, swallowing up a car. Firefighters were called to the property in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, on Sunday morning where they spent an hour cordoning off the area and giving safety advice. No-one was inside the parked Volkswagen Lupo when the 15ft wide crater formed, but there are concerns regarding the stability of the house, which is only a foot away. 

 A Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the incident had been handed over to building control at Wycombe District Council. High Wycombe is built on chalk, which Paul Beetham, a lecturer in civil engineering at Nottingham Trent University, says may explain why the phenomenon occurred in the area. "Areas underlain by chalk may contain natural voids or caves, which formed over many thousands of years as groundwater passed through and dissolved the chalk," Mr Beetham said.

Family have four Children with same Birthday at odds of more than 133,000 to one

A family won't have trouble remembering their children's birthdays - because all four siblings were born on the same day. Emily Scrugham and Peter Dunn were amazed when their newborn son arrived on January 12, the exact same date as his three elder brother and sisters. 

New baby Ryan shares his birthday with his five-year-old brother Sam, and his two-year-old twin sisters Brooke and Nicole. The couple from Cleator Moor, Cumbria, beat odds of a staggering 1/133225 in producing a quadruple birthday for their four children. Emily, 22, said: 'I really can't believe we have another birthday on the same day - it certainly wasn't planned. 'None of the births were due on January 12. Sam was two weeks late, the twins one month early and Ryan three days late.

Pakistani family jumps into river to escape police

As per a report:

Islamabad : Eight members of a family jumped into a river to avoid ending up in police custody in Pakistan's Sindh province Sunday, a media report said. The people -- three women and five children -- belonged to a family of a proclaimed offender, Geo News reported.

All are feared drowned. The body of one child was recovered later, the report added. "The women feared that the police would take them away and then use them as hostages to force the wanted criminal to surrender, so they preferred to drown than fall in the hands of the police," the report quoted a source as saying.

Family lived with dead relative in their house for ten months because they thought it would keep ghosts away

A superstitious family kept the body of a dead relative in their house for ten months to keep spirits out. Three members of the same family were found living with the highly-decomposed body of a female relative in their house in Nagercoil, India. After a neighbour complained about the foul smell from the house in Ramavarma Puram, police found the body of 56-year-old Umadevi covered with a bedspread in one of the rooms. She had died on December 3, 2012.

The son of the deceased, her mother and her brother, were admitted to a government hospital as it was suspected they may have an infection and psychological disorder, Hindustan Times reports. Police said Umadevi's mother Sarojini, her son Sivaraman and her brother Sellampillai had always kept their house locked and did not speak to neighbours. 

They had been living on the family pension of Sarojini's husband Subramaniam Pillai. As Sarojini did not appear for a renewal of life certificate, they did not get the pension in recent months. Police originally suspected the body had been kept in the house because they couldn't afford to pay for a cremation but then officers suspected they may be unwell.
