Police arrests a Goat for trespassing on judge's garden

As per a report:

In a weird incident, Chhattisgarh police arrested a goat on Tuesday for trespassing on the property of a judge in Korea district of the state. The goat was released later on, but the police have charged a case against the owner of it. Every day the goat allegedly entered the premises of the bungalow of Judicial Magistrate (first class) H. Ratre and ate plants and vegetables in the garden.

Amid the continuous warnings given by the judge to Abdul Hasan, 40, the owner of the ‘intruder’, the goat continued to trespass. The judge, on Monday, called up senior police officers and complained about the goat. Acting quickly on the complaint, the police immediately took the goat and its owner into custody. “The judge’s bungalow has an iron gate and the goat used to jump over it and enter,” said Assistant Sub-Inspector R P Srivastava. “The peon who maintains the garden had warned the owner of the goat many times. So today he filed a complaint and we arrested the goat and its owner,” he added.

 Hasan was charged under sections 447 (criminal trespass) and 427 (mischief causing damage) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). “My goat scaled the boundary wall again and ate flowers and vegetables from the garden. It was taken to the police station and then the police also brought me in,” Hasan was quoted as saying by Press Trust of India. He was sent to a two-day remand by a court.

The incident, however, has sparked a political controversy with the opposition Congress party coming down heavily on the police. “The ‘arrest’ of a goat is ridiculous. Chhattisgarh police have made fun of themselves by doing so,” Congress leader Shailesh Nitin Trivedi said, and he added, “Those accused in rape cases are moving freely. “The most painful and disappointing aspect is the entry made by an ASI of Chhatisgarh police in diary that the goat used to graze despite several warnings. Chhattisgarh police is communicating with even goats, this is one aspect of the incident,” he said.

 In 2015, in a similar incident, Maharashtra police had taken a parrot into custody for making indecent remarks.

New Delhi Cops Baffled as Thieves take off with IVF materials

As per a report:

In a bizarre heist, thieves in New Delhi stole In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) materials and vials from Moolchand Hospital on Saturday damaging the laboratory and other instruments. Police have registered an FIR and suspect that this could be the handiwork of someone from withing the hospital. Police said that the thieves took off with vials containing sperms and even equipment and instruments used in the IVF technique.

The incident took place on Saturday and came to light on Sunday after the lab technician, Paritosh Kumar Sarkar noticed that the lab was ransacked and many things were missing. The police is surprised at the precision of the theft since IVF is a very specific field and the materials and instruments used in this field is not used for any ordinary purpose. Police are checking the entry and exit register and are also scanning the CCTV footage to identify the culprits.

Cops register FIR against a Dog

As per TV reports & a TOI report:

In Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr district, police have registered a case against a stray dog for biting a retired sub-inspector of Delhi Police Vijay Singh on February 13. A case has been registered under section 289 (negligent conduct with respect to animal) of the Indian Penal Code at Gulaothi Police Station, Circle Officer Shailendra Singh Rathore said. The retired cop had lodged a complaint that was bitten by a stray dog, he said. 

The police report mentions "Abhiyukt Kuttey Hain" (the accused is a dog). Investigations are on, the circle officer had said. However, later speaking to TOI, Superintendent of Police, Bulandshahr, Umesh Kumar Singh, clarified and said, "The dogs have not been made accused, rather it is the owner of the dogs, who has been made the accused." Four persons, including a woman, were killed in August 2013 while four others suffered critical injuries in a group clash following a dispute over a pet dog excreting outside a house in Baghpat district.

Police Chase 3,000 Escaped Chickens On Road

As per a report:

Chinese transport police found themselves faced with the unenviable task of catching 3,000 escaped chickens after the lorry they were being transported in overturned on a major road.Traffic police in the Guizhou Province had to shut the road to all other vehicles and catch the animals, most of which had escaped from their pens after the vehicle swerved while driving through dense fog and tipped over, releasing the birds.  
Chinese policeman were then forced to chase the fowl through nearby bushes after they ran off the motorway and into the surrounding overgrowth. They were filmed creeping up on the animals before trying to grab them and force them back into their cages. But even the best attempts of exasperated police proved rather futile however, and they were only able to round up around 900 of the 3,000 chickens. The rest managed to evade capture and make a break for it, and now presumably continue to live in the wild.

Pakistani family jumps into river to escape police

As per a report:

Islamabad : Eight members of a family jumped into a river to avoid ending up in police custody in Pakistan's Sindh province Sunday, a media report said. The people -- three women and five children -- belonged to a family of a proclaimed offender, Geo News reported.

All are feared drowned. The body of one child was recovered later, the report added. "The women feared that the police would take them away and then use them as hostages to force the wanted criminal to surrender, so they preferred to drown than fall in the hands of the police," the report quoted a source as saying.

Baby For Sale Online Ad

As per a report:

A baby has apparently been offered for sale on a website in Brazil for £270 because the mother claims it cries too much. The advertisement, which police say was unlikely to be genuine and which was eventually removed for breaching the site's terms and conditions, said the baby was on offer for one thousand Brazilian reais (£270). 

A picture of the baby was uploaded to online market website OLX along with the description: "cries a lot, won't let me sleep and I need to go to work". The poster identified a Vinícius Félix and offered a contact number in the suburb of the central Brazil city of Goiania. Calls to the number were not being answered. OLX is an online site for buying and selling goods and services.

As per one report now police dogs too shall get pensions: As per the report:

Dogs work hard, sniffing out crime with only the occasional pat on the nose in gratitude. But police dogs deserve better, according to the police and crime commissioner in the English county of Nottinghamshire, who wants to reward them with "pensions" on retirement. 

Paddy Tipping says the idea for a canine pension fund came about because officers were picking up the costs for retired police dogs. Handlers normally take dogs home upon retirement. Tipping, however, says he doesn't "think it's fair that they have to pay all the bills." The plans announced Monday will be rolled out next month. Up to 500 pounds ($800) annually will be given to handlers for three years to cover veterinary bills for work-related injuries or illness.

Police 'Steal' Bikes to see if Public call 999

As per a report:

Police in Cambridge have staged a series of bike thefts on video to demonstrate just how easy it is for a genuine thief to walk off with a bike without being challenged or even reported. The ‘thefts’ were staged in fairly busy public places in the city, and while the video shows plenty of people close to the ‘thief’ or even watching him, nobody even called 999.

The police have warned cyclists to use good quality locks and to lock their bikes securely to solid objects. And they have appealed to the general public to alert the police of suspicious behaviour. According to the police, 2,100 bikes per year are stolen in Cambridge.

Many are not locked at all, locked with inadequate locks or have a lock round the frame and a wheel but not a solid object. In the video, a ‘thief’ wheels away a bike with a lock around just its rear wheel and in another sequence cuts a lock with a pair of bright orange bolt croppers without being challenged.

What would you say to a  Facebook Prank by a Fisherman regarding Gold Bar which Launched Police Investigation. As per a report:

A fishing trawler crew’s prank backfired after they posted photos on Facebook of a fake gold bar and were met by police as soon as they docked. 

 The fishermen boasted that they had found 11 bars of bullion worth £1.5m when if fact the metal was an old brass bracket. Skiller Billy Anderson, 36, had to explain to police that it was simply a piece of scrap his boat landed while fishing for scallops and not bullion rumoured to be on the seabed from the infamous 1983 Brink's-Mat robbery, where £26million was stolen from a Heathrow warehouse. 

 Mr Anderson, who works for TN Trawlers in Arran, and his crew of six cut up the bracket with an angle grinder so he could trick his fiancée into thinking that they were suddenly rich, according to The Sun. The fishermen’s boasts quickly spread throughout other boats, and Mr Anderson was met with requests to give the precise location of his find, 16 miles off Falmouth in Cornwall. 

 Mr Anderson, from Dumfries, Scotland, had to persuade his fiancée, Claire Muir, 29, not to go on a lavish shopping spree and eventually told his boat’s owners the truth after they prepared to send two more vessels to the site.
